IPTV Netherlands 2026: What should you pay attention to? (And how not to get scammed)
IPTV Netherlands 2026: What should you pay attention to? (And how not to get scammed)
Honestly? It makes me tired. You see them everywhere: those IPTV providers who promise “all channels in the world in 8K” for €5 per month. And people fall for it. And three months later that guy disappeared with your money. Or your stream stutters so much that you think you’re on dial-up internet again.
So I thought: let me write down what you should really pay attention to when you enter Netherlands IPTV want to take. No nonsense, just honest tips. Because IPTV is great when it works well – I have enjoyed watching it for years – but you have to know what to look for.
And yes, I work at Pro-IPTV myself. I say that honestly. But the tips below are just general and will help you assess any provider. Even if you don’t end up buying from us.
Why do people actually stop using Ziggo and KPN?
You hear it more and more often: “We threw out the cable.” And I get it. Because if you do the math, you will really be shocked.
Just a quick calculation. A complete Ziggo or KPN package with a few sports channels and some internet will easily cost you €75 to €110 per month. Add to that the fact that you have a separate streaming subscription or two and then you’re up to €100 per month. That’s more than a thousand euros a year just to watch TV.
With Pro-IPTV you spend between €15 and €25 per month – and then you have all your channels, all the sports, all the films and series you can think of. Other providers are in the same range, by the way. If someone asks for €5, just keep walking.
I’m not saying it’s all perfect, but you understand why more and more people are making the switch. In just two years, 380,000 Dutch households have already stopped their cable subscription.
As far as I’m concerned, the savings are worth it, but only if you know what you’re doing. Because there are quite a few cowboys in this world.
How do you recognize Pro-IPTV? (And other good providers)
Of course, I can best tell you how we do it ourselves. But let’s be honest: a good one provider – whether it’s us or someone else – just does a few things right.
1. Dutch customer service (no chatbot)
This is the biggest indicator for me. At Pro-IPTV you can simply WhatsApp us. No hassle with tickets or chatbots that send you in circles. You get a person on the line (well, in the chat) who simply speaks Dutch and thinks along.
Feel free to send a message before you buy something, for example: “Hi, I have a Samsung Smart TV from 2022, which app do you recommend?” You will soon notice whether a real person answers or whether you are dealing with some bot.
With us you will receive an answer within a few hours, often faster. And we don’t send standard texts, we just think along with you.
2. Realistic prices
Okay, let’s be completely honest: for €5 per month you are not going to get a stable IPTV service. Point. Good servers cost money, Dutch-language support costs money, and all those channels have to come from somewhere.
Our subscriptions range between €15 and €25 per month, depending on what you need. There you get all Dutch channels, all sports (ESPN, Ziggo Sport, Viaplay), a series of foreign channels and a large library of films and series.
There are probably providers who are cheaper, but then you have to wonder what they are cutting back on. Usually this is the quality or support. And that ultimately affects you as a viewer.
3. Free trial period
We always give a free trial period. Usually 24 to 48 hours depending on how busy it is. Why? Because we are confident that you will be satisfied.
I would skip any provider that doesn’t offer a trial period. Why wouldn’t they want to give a test if they believe in it themselves? Precisely.
How do you properly test such a trial subscription?
As a side note: I see so many people who take a free trial period, quickly check a channel in the morning, think “oh it works” and then take out an annual subscription. And a week later they’re complaining that things aren’t working. Yeah, duh.
If you take a test, do it right. Here is my step-by-step plan.
Test during the evening rush hour
Do not test during the day, because then it is quiet. The real test is at 8pm on a weekday. For example, turn on NPO 1 during the NOS Journaal. If that stream still runs stably without glitches, then that provider has good servers. Does he drop out? Then you know enough.
At Pro-IPTV we have no problems with this, but I recommend that you just check it yourself.
Put on a live sports match
Sports is the biggest challenge for any IPTV service. So just turn on an Eredivisie match on ESPN or a Formula 1 race. Watch for fifteen minutes and pay close attention:
- Does the image falter during fast action?
- Does the quality suddenly drop back to a grainy image?
- Does the stream hang while the match continues?
I can tell you from experience: if the sports channel doesn’t work properly, you can forget about the rest of the service.
Check the program guide (EPG)
This is one of those things that you will regret later if it doesn’t work properly. You sit comfortably on the couch, the TV guide turns out to be completely empty – or what is even worse – there is a completely different program than is actually being broadcast.
So check whether the EPG is correct. Does NPO 1 actually contain the program that should be there according to the official guide? Is the time correct? With us it is well arranged, but feel free to test it.
Test on your own device
This may sound obvious, but you would be surprised how many people test on their phone while they have a 2016 Samsung TV at home.
The choice of your device makes a huge difference. Some apps work better on Samsung, others work better on LG. So just test on the device you will use most of the time.
Which apps do we recommend?
We have tried many apps. These are our favorites, and also what we usually recommend to clients.
SmartOne (for Samsung and LG Smart TV)
This is by far the best app for people with a Samsung or LG television. And honestly? It is also the reason that many customers come to us. Why? Because it’s incredibly simple.
Other apps require you to mess around with M3U links that you have to copy and paste somewhere. With SmartOne, all you have to do is look at the MAC address that appears in the app – which is a series of six pairs of numbers, something like 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E.
You give us that address and we will take care of the rest. You only have to restart the app and you will see all channels appear. No hassle, no technical knowledge required.
And the great thing is: your playlist is also saved if your TV gets an update. No more hassle with resetting everything every time.
For customers with a Samsung or LG, this is really our first advice. It just works.
IPTV Smarters Pro (for all other devices)
This is the standard in the IPTV world. Works on almost everything: Fire TV Stick, Android phones, iPad, Apple TV and some Smart TVs.
All you need is a username and password – no messing around with long links. You fill in three things, click on log in, and you are in.
The interface looks modern, you have a nice program guide, and you can easily save your favorite channels. We recommend this for people with a Fire TV Stick or Android.
TiviMate (for advanced users)
If you have a bit more experience and you like to customize everything, then TiviMate is really great. You can customize the EPG completely, watch multiple screens at the same time, and the performance is somewhat better than Smarters Pro.
The disadvantage is that it is slightly less user-friendly. You do have to know what you’re doing. For the average viewer, SmartOne or Smarters Pro is a better choice.
Our advice: Do you have a Samsung or LG? Choose SmartOne. Do you have a Fire TV Stick or Android? Choose IPTV Smarters Pro. Do you really want to be able to set everything yourself? Choose TiviMate.
And one more tip: please use ethernet cable instead of wifi. So many people complain about buffering when they just have a bad WiFi connection. A cable will cost you a few euros and will solve most problems in one go.
What do you do if it doesn’t work? (Because things sometimes go wrong)
Let’s be honest: no IPTV service is perfect. Things sometimes go wrong. But at Pro-IPTV we will solve it for you. That’s what we are known for: we continue where others stop.
Here’s a quick cheat sheet for the most common problems:
Buffering while watching sports
First check whether you happen to be on WiFi. Switch to an Ethernet cable. Doesn’t that help? Send us a message and we will take a look. For us, it is rarely the fault of our servers, but we will always help you.
The program guide is empty
Check in the settings of your app whether the time zone is set to Europe/Amsterdam. THAT often solves it. Doesn’t it work? Just WhatsApp and we will fix it.
The app keeps crashing
Update your TV software. Really, that sounds lame, but I see it so often: people with a TV that hasn’t been updated in two years. Just update and it works again.
All channels are black and white
Go to “decoder” in the settings of your app and switch it from ‘software’ to ‘hardware’ (or vice versa). This is usually resolved in no time.
The DNS trick
This is a golden tip: change your router’s DNS server to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) or Google (8.8.8.8). This ensures that your internet traffic is routed faster. Takes you 2 minutes and often works wonders.
And if you can’t figure it out? Just send us a WhatsApp. We think along with you. No hassle, no standard answers.
What does it cost at Pro-IPTV?
Because you are probably curious about concrete advice: we offer IPTV subscriptions from €15 per month. For that you get:
- All Dutch channels (NPO, RTL, SBS, regional broadcasters)
- All sports (ESPN, Ziggo Sport, Viaplay – everything)
- All international channels (BBC, CNN, Sky, etc.)
- An extensive library of films and series (VOD)
- 24/7 Dutch support via WhatsApp
We don’t have to deal with returns or hassle. We simply do: test for free and only pay when you are satisfied. And if you have a Samsung or LG? We will then install everything for you via your MAC address. You only have to open the SmartOne app and provide us with the address.
So, what are you waiting for?
